14K gold plated brass is the workhorse of the fashion jewelry industry: it delivers the warm color and weight feel of fine gold jewelry at a fraction of the material cost, which is exactly what trend-driven collections and volume retail programs need. We manufacture gold plated brass jewelry — alongside 925 silver, copper and solid carat gold versions of the same designs — in our 900 m² Guangdong workshop, with a 50-person team, 3 R&D staff and 8 QC inspectors.
Brass bodies are polished to a plating-ready finish, cleaned ultrasonically, then plated in a nickel-free bath system. We offer build levels from flash plating for short-run trend pieces up to heavier deposits with an e-coat seal for daily-wear lines — the right specification depends on your price point and wear expectations, and we will recommend one during quoting rather than defaulting to the cheapest option.
A nickel-free barrier layer under the gold plate matters twice: it protects the wearer (EN 1811 nickel release limits) and it prevents base-metal migration that would otherwise dull the gold tone over time.
Plated jewelry wears at contact points — ring shanks, bracelet edges, ear-wire posts. For lines sold as everyday wear we recommend a heavier build plus e-coat; for seasonal fashion drops, a standard build keeps unit cost down. Store-flat packaging and anti-tarnish inserts extend shelf life in humid climates. Tell us where your pieces will be sold and we will spec the finish to match.
Gold plated brass programs are tested to EN 1811, RoHS and GB 11887, with SGS reports available. If your market adds requirements — REACH annex entries, cadmium/lead limits, CPSIA for the US — send the checklist with your inquiry.
MOQ 30 pieces per design · Sampling 7–12 days · Bulk production 20–35 days · SGS / RoHS / GB 11887 / EN 1811 tested.
Larger programs scale on our Luoding, Guangdong production base (approximately 113,220 m²), while development and first articles remain with the same team that quoted your project.

Gold plating on brass is only as good as its specification. We plate 14K gold color at controlled thickness — typically 0.5–1 micron for fashion programs and 1–3 microns for lines that need a longer wear story — over a nickel-controlled barrier layer. Bath chemistry, current density and dwell time are logged per batch, and finished lots are salt-spray and tarnish tested before packing. Where a customer needs a specific micron claim printed on the spec sheet, we plate to that number and test to it rather than quoting a vague “heavy plating”.
Plated brass sits in the sweet spot between costume jewelry and precious metal: it carries real weight and a warm gold tone, holds enamel and hand-set stones well, and lands at a retail price that supports frequent assortment changes. It is the right base for seasonal drops, promotional capsules, gift-with-purchase pieces and fashion lines that turn styles every few months. For brands that need the same look in a precious metal claim, the same designs can be quoted in 925 sterling silver or solid 8K / 9K / 14K gold.
Send a sketch, CAD file, reference photo or physical sample. We confirm feasibility, return costing and a CAD drawing within 48 hours, then produce a physical sample in 7–12 days. Bulk production runs 20–35 days after sample approval. Each shipment includes a commercial invoice, packing list and material statement, with SGS and EN 1811 nickel-release reports available on request.
Send us your sketches, CAD files or reference links — our engineering team replies with costing and design-for-manufacturing feedback within 48 hours. Request a quote or email service@hongkongvita.com.
